a weekend where good friends dream up a great year
With Shasta Nelson
January 20-22, 2017
You are invited to join a circle of women this January who will...
Rest & Receive: Abundant salad bars and nourishing meals, long nights of rest, soaking in a Jacuzzi under the stars, hikes, yoga, and beautiful views.
Learn & Grow: Blank pages of possibility, scribbled words that catch your breath, inspiring teaching, journaling prompts that could change your focus, spiritual guidance, rituals that invoke, and support for whatever is revealed.
Bond & Love: Meeting new friends, deeper time with an invited friend, affirmation, support, being seen and known, cheering, giving and receiving, making memories, experiencing growth beside each other.
Laugh & Play: Wine, chocolate, markers, glue, pink feather boas, campfires, and songs!
We welcome all women who are looking for a meaningful weekend away. Our retreats are a mix of guided personal reflection and facilitated group connection so that you leave feeling hopeful, clear, and supported for the upcoming chapter of your life. Shasta facilitates a process carefully designed to help you hear your own true wisdom and to do so within a safe community of other women.
Our participants range in age between 20 and 70, come from all across the country, and we always have a beautiful mix of extroverts and introverts.
If you want to start 2017 with intentionality, love being surrounded by beauty, value friendship and want to meet other women who are committed to lives of self-awareness, and are willing to invest in your self-care—we so hope you know we’d love to have you in our circle.
invite a friend
About half of our participants come alone, ready to meet others and connect. But maybe you also want to bring a friend with you, somewhere to share your room with and turn it into a meaningful weekend of reconnection, too? Your choice!
Bring your sister, your daughter, your mom, your best friend, or someone you’re getting to know better—whoever you come with, there’ll be plenty of chances to bond and catch up, while also both having the chance to meet other amazing women.
where we will gather
Mayacamas Ranch sits upon the hilltop ridge line above the town of Calistoga in Napa, CA and is surrounded by spectacular and inspiring 360-degree views.
Wake up every morning to hike down the canyon, swim in the salt water pool, practice yoga on the lawn with mountains as your backdrop, find a little bench to read and journal, or just stay snuggled in bed for as long as possible in the 100% organic sheets.
January will be crisp and cool, but oh so much warmer than much of the country! We’ll sit by fires inside and go for long walks outside for deep breaths of fresh air.
When it’s time to end the day, you can sip some wine, soak in the Jacuzzi, sit by a fire under the stars, or stay up late whispering secrets with your friend like we did as kids during our slumber parties.
Mayacamas Ranch will be a sacred container of space for our time together—a place where you will breath deep, take in gorgeous nature, and feel your connection to the women in circle with you.
Optional: Arrive a day early or stay a day late to explore Napa’s wineries, book a day at a nearby spa, or meander and shop through cute towns.
what is included
Your weekend retreat includes:
- The Meaningful Revealing of Your Truth & Wisdom. The intention of this guided retreat is that you return home having heard the hope and clarity that will guide you into a powerful and intentional year. Shasta will teach and inspire you, lead you through creative activities and personal journaling, and will expertly guide you to land on the words that will anchor your year in personal vision.
Two nights of peaceful and cozy lodging. Everything you need is ready for you: organic sheets, beautiful views, quiet darkness, a starry sky, and all the amenities of a retreat center. (Double-occupancy, though single occupancy may be available if preferred.)
Six delicious, organic, and nourishing meals. With 50 raised beds for growing vegetables and tons of fruit trees, the Ranch grows much of the food they use in their recipes. Every meal will be a delight for the eyes, as well as the tummies, as you fill your plate with food that will heal your body. The food last year was given a 4.7 out of 5 and was raved about at every meal. (Gluten-free, dairy-free, and meat-free options will be available.)
Meaningful and Fun Connection with Other Amazing Women. While the end goal of the retreat is personal awareness and hope, we will also bond and connect with other women who also value personal growth and community. We will share and learn from one another, support and encourage each other, and laugh and bond together. We’ll leave with new friends.
Outdoor activities to restore you. Whether you choose to escape on a hike around their property, swim in their salt-water pool, soak in their Jacuzzi, stroll through their gardens, find a little corner of beauty to sit and stare at, or practice yoga on the big lawn—the entire property and the 360 degree views on Mt. St. Helena and the Mayacamas Mountains are all yours to enjoy!
All craft supplies and journals. Everything you need for all our activities, from designing your wisdom board to receiving your own journal for the weekend, is provided.
Optional morning yoga. Start your mornings with a gentle and invigorating yoga class, all supplies and mat’s provided. (Or, sleep in; or, come get fresh coffee and journal; or, go for a walk. Whatever your heart calls for…)
